"This review shares my experience with Modern Windows and Doors, which I suggest potential customers read fully. I paid a $10k deposit for a basement entrance project costing around $22k. Josh Webster promised a "turnkey" project but failed to deliver and attempted to move forward with no permit. After weeks of no updates, I learned that engineering was incomplete. Communication was poor, and I often had to ask for updates. I later found out they weren't licensed for the work in Longmont, leading to delays. Josh hired a concrete guy who was building the walls and stairs outside of the spec the engineer designed. When I hired my own concrete contractor, he discovered mistakes in the work done. Ultimately, I requested my deposit back after losing confidence in Josh. He returned part of the deposit and made me sign a non-disparagement agreement that violates the consumer review fairness act. I recommend finding another contractor. I lost tons of time and money working with this company."

To refurbish an old wooden front door:
Remove it from the hinges and lay it flat.
Remove all hardware and existing finishes to prepare it for sanding.
Sand the door, then clear off sawdust and debris.
Apply stain and let it dry.
Apply exterior varnish.
Reinstall all hardware and rehang the door on its hinges.
Wood filler is easy to use and can repair cracks, holes, and dents in as little as two hours. First, put the wood filler directly into the hole you want to fill and rub it in a circular motion. Use an angled putty knife to scrape across the surface to smooth out excess filler. Once the hole is filled, use sandpaper to smooth the surface.
You can repair a doorframe without a full replacement by addressing only the damaged areas. Start by identifying the damaged sections and applying a high-quality wood filler or patching compound. A full doorframe replacement is necessary when damage extends across the entire frame or when severe rot compromises its structural integrity. In cases of widespread deterioration or when decay is present in multiple areas, replace the whole frame to make it secure and functional and ensure proper alignment. Repaired sections won’t provide the lasting durability that a complete replacement offers.
