"Estimator evaluated the situation, estimate was emailed for $1,700, 8/6/19 @ 6:48PM CST. **Estimate included cricket. They opted out by saying there hadnt been a need for one for thirty years. On 10/3/19 a revised estimate was sent for $1,200 (NO cricket). Work was completed on 10/18/19 per the scope of work on revised estimate from 10/3/19 and not invoiced until 10/27/19 via HomeAdvisor invoicing system. A few weeks after the work had been completed, Mrs. Cxxxxxxx called to inform us that the roof was still leaking. We scheduled Rich to go out and take a look at the chimney repair and decided that the flashing should be riveted to the chimney. (Which later the homeowner and/or Mr. Jerry Cxxxxx removed and applied silicone to the flashing) We did not find the roof to be leaking, only going off of what the homeowners were telling us. Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx called several times saying the roof was leaking and yet every time we came out it has not been leaking and found no evidence that would show us otherwise. After questioning Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx about it she stated they have not seen any new leaks, they just wanted to make sure its not leaking. Having returned to the home eight times, Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx referenced the ceiling stain over the fireplace when we could not find an active leak. The high rains with strong winds that we were having at that time we thought we should tarp the chimney in case the chimney itself could be leaking since we were unable to locate any water in the attic. Also, when we arrived to assess the job in July the chimney was covered with a black bag and we were told that it was to keep the draft from coming into the living area. Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx also stated that its not leaking anymore and if we would paint the stain that would take care of everything. We have gone over and beyond to help reassure them that the chimney was not leaking to include coming out on a very rainy evening on 3/4/20 climbing into the attic and providing video of all three sections of the chimney which were not wet and there are no leaks as well as photos of wood replacement and no water marks/stains in the photos. Because the stain seemed to be an issue we applied a coat of Kilz over the stain that was there before we did the repair work and did it at no charge. I was not condescending to Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx as she claims, I stated that the fireplace was not leaking and that we were no longer coming out to hunt down a leak that didnt exist. She got mad and hung up on me. It was after this that Uncle Jerry Cxxxxx got involved, he called and threaten to take me to court. Still trying to provide the best service to our client, I sent another roofer out and he too could not find a leak. While letting the family know of the results of the other roofers inspection; Mrs. Cxxxxxxxx stated that the chimney never leaked until we came out and did the repair. (This is not a true and factual statement; if you reference the original lead sent to us by HomeAdvisor for the reason for the repair). We have provided photos, videos and another contractor results to show that the repair was a success and to no avail they are not still not happy. In order to resolve the issue, as I stated to Mr. Jerry in my last conversation with him, I am willing to paint the stain again and replace the rivet that was removed by the homeowner. He told me not to bother that he didnt want us back on the property. I would like to add, that this is an old roof, installed in 2005, should be replaced, in addition to a cricket should be installed to assist in proper water flow away from the chimney."
