I worked with Andrew Bobst through a flood remediation process. And while he was extremely responsive & quick to come out to the house in the flood aftermath, the rest of the process was like pulling teeth. There was unclear communication about how long the dryers needed to run, promises of working with insurance, but to which I later became the middle man for payment. And most significantly, a tile that was ruined when the walls were taken out. I've spent 5 months trying to work with them to get them to replace this. And I've even offered to provide a replacement tile myself, if they'll just have someone come replace it. Unfortunately, despite countless followups, Andrew has not made the time to get this resolved. So I certainly won't be giving them my service again.

If I could give a zero I would. I never write reviews, but want to make sure others are not taken advantage of like I was after an unfortunate restoration issue. Beware of the Steam Team Austin who starts then abandons the project and will provide an estimate and then never communicate with you again until you receive an invoice three times your estimate with no explanation. There is no communication and you have to chase your project manager for answers. They do not provide any documentation as proof of damage and work completed. I was told in writing that they "dropped the ball" but still sent an invoice with no details for over 10k. Wes in the Austin office management is completely useless and refused to provide a detailed invoice. Read other similar reviews and avoid them and the stress.

A truly nightmare experience with this company. Work stopped on the project and when I asked for a status update, the Project Manager told me he didn't need to let me know what was going on and then quit the project. I escalated to the owners of the project who also resigned from the project. They then took months to settle on the final bill leaving my project stranded. It was really one of the worst service experiences of my life. If you have a fire restoration project look to anyone else. They are simply awful.

I’m really happy with the service I received from Mike at The Steam Team. He made 20+ year old carpet look practically brand new and our white kitchen tile is so shiny! The grout in the kitchen had never been cleaned and it looks amazing. Mike arrived early and explained everything to me. He gave me options in terms of additional services (such as grout sealing) and provided me what the cost would be. He arrived around 1:20 and was done with 3 bedrooms, office, stairs and landing, kitchen and bath by about 4pm.

It took longer than we expected, but they were very thorough. They came out within hours of the flood after being called by my insurance company and set up fans throughout the house to dry out the place. They also removed sections of my ceiling and pulled down soaked fiberglass insulation. A day or so later they came by, removed all the damaged flooring and also put thick plastic sheeting over where the ceiling was missing so that I could run the AC efficiently.

The carpets are clean, dry and do not smell. It's exactly what I needed. I agree (with other reviews) that the telephone quote was less than the in person quite. I did not appreciate the add-on for then "hallway" (tiny areas), such that I did not have my walk in closet cleaned so the cost would t go up so much. And the coupons are way less than the eventual cost of the services I would still use them again, but I'd budget more for the services than quoted. The work was too good to not keep using them.
