He has been in the pool construction industry for over 20 years. Splash Around Pools offers both above ground and standard below ground custom made swimming pools. Slow, did not finish, text several times to complete work. Would not return calls. Liner coming out light that was repaired worked about a week not replaced properly. Replacing skimmer flaps was included did not return to finish. They tried to increase the cost of estimate I showed them the estimate got mad. Hard to deal with.

No communication with this guy. He starts off good but does not finish and does not show up when scheduled. We had him quite deck concrete repair and new hand rail for our in ground pool. He had someone do the concrete work, average job. We paid him part of the money and he was to bring the rail and install. We asked for a saftron salt Resistant rail and that is what he quoted. He finally should up with a rail but I do not think it was the same quality. It did not fit so he said he would be back. Several times I texted him and said he would be there on a certain day but did not show. I eventually told him to consider the job complete and I got my own rail. This was months ago! I ordered the rail I wanted and actually spent less than what he was charging me. It is a shame he does business this way, I liked the guy and thought I would use him again. Also, I still have not received a response on canceling the rest of the job.

Replace vinyl liner in swimming pool. Job was to be done in 2 days, it took 9. Never knew when installers would show up. We were definitely a fit in job. Filter was set up wrong, owner never showed up to fix. Murky water and sand in pool. My husband finally took filter apart and fixed the problem. Filter was not assembled correctly in the beginning. I would not recommend this company to anyone! Buyer Beware! There was always an accuse for not showing up on the job. Pool install was very stressful when it did not have to be. No follow up on anything. We purchased a Salt system, was not installed correctly. Had to go to another pool company to fix and set up. UGH!!! :( JULIE D. OF MOORESVILLE, NC.

They never show up when they say they will its always the next day or a week later. Multiple times they have not finished the job and I had to beg them to come back. The last time they didnt finish the job which I paid for so I lost $200. Darren the owner made a little attempt to fix the issue in order to look good online and for reviews with the BBB. The reality is he never contacted me as he stated, he had multiple ways to contact me. Darren the owner in my opinion is not an honest person.

"This customer on multiple occasions tried to hire my employees to do work on the side, after hearing this from my employees I refused to go back. I will gladly refund any money we ever accepted and did not finish the work. We are very trustworthy and I think this is slander and I will be talking to my lawyer. I have excellent reviews and take this serious."

I called Darin and setup an initial appointment. He was prompt. he replaced a part in my pump. However, the leakage problem was not completely stopped. I called him the following Monday and asked that he come back. He promised to do so the next day. He failed to show up - no phone call, no text. I set up two additional appointments. He never showed up for either. Did not call, did not text.

Vinyl Liner for Swimming Pool Replacement
We had the pool liner replaced last summer, along with the concrete replacement around the pool. Don't belive what you are told by Darin UNLESS it's in writing in the contract! Expected a call from him this spring, just to "touch base" and check to see if everything was well with the pool. Nothing. Darin is a nice enough guy, but, he will not keep his word unless it's in writing in the contract, we were told that there would be foam liner put in around the top section of the pool due to the breaking and cracking of the top section of pool surround, (the section around the top of an inground liner pool) didn't happen..... told me he "forgot", slide was installed with stainless steel anchors originally, Told Darin that I wanted the same type of hardware when it was reinstalled, well, standard mismatched steel anchors were used and slide supply water line leaks. Liner looks ok, concrete is cracking, and flaking in spots. He's not experienced enough to do this kind of work.(just my opinion) liner replacement, opening & closing a pool he's most likely ok, but NOT on major work. Watch his estimates too, ours was about $2000.00 low.... just saying,.... big mistake to make... maybe a few hundred bucks, but 2 grand?

Darin and his team were very prompt and professional. He was to come one day and take the old liner out and return the next morning to put the new liner in and the guys showed up with everything to do the same day. Although the manufacturer of the new liner made a huge mistake with the way the liner was cut, Darin jumped right on it and had all taken care of and within a week I had the proper liner installed and it looks great! Thanks, Darin and thank you for making my pool look brand new!

Never showed up when promised, and I'm a very patient person! I realize that the unexpected comes up and repairs take longer than expected. He repaired our existing sand filter and it was worse than before. I honestly didn't trust him to come back and replace the filter.

Lack of communication, added upcharge at the last minute, incorrect color of pool plaster, did not perform a water leak check or a few other promised items I saw Darin was highly rated but I did not experience that same level of service

"cu cost.stomer never paid for the plaster job so they give us a bad review for getting a free plaster. Is a joke. Enjoy your free plaster. 4000 dollars worth of work not paid for.in this case the customer receive a free plaster job which is good for 10 years of swimming seasons. At No"

Very hard to get Darin to come out. Once he finally came out to try and repair my remote/transmitter, he basically fiddled with some wires, called tech support and said my brand new transmitter was bad and he could not fix it. He then gladly took my $100 for a service call for 20 mins of nothing. He also likes to curse and has no sales skills. I asked him about cost for a new remote/transmitter system and he had no idea. I asked him about putting in a pool heater and he only recommended an electric system but did not give me a quote or any details on how to get one set up.

"We drove 1 hour to get to this job, and spent 2 labor hours diagnosing customers remote control in the rain. Went through all diagnosics with intermatic technical support and determined that the transmitter was bad. Hooked up the customers only system with same results. Was asked about a heater while I was concentrating on wiring system back up. Charged customer for a service call only and not the labor. I guess I should work for free and give free advise. Really not sure what we did wrong here."
