They provided excellent service on the lamps and expert help in selecting a new shade.

I went to A Lamp & Fixture Shop today, hoping to a repair a lamp (a small countertop nightlight). I wanted to both get a professional’s advice on the safety of a questionable (to me) part of the cord and to replace the plug, which we had tried unsuccessfully to do ourselves. The helpful repairman explained exactly why we had encountered difficulty trying to do it ourselves, looked carefully and told me that the part of the cord we thought might be iffy was fine, and replaced the plug -- charging $15 for the repair. The whole walk-in exchange took around 10 minutes, which probably doesn't always happen at busier times of the day. But having the little lamp fixed on the spot saved me an hour of driving in city traffic to pick the lamp the later in the week! My first visit to this shop was to get a stained glass tensor desk lamp, an estate sale find, to work; I figured it would have to be rewired. I was told by the staff that this is not easy to do, given the structure of that type of tensor lamp -- and re-wiring would have cost me more than the lamp did. But the staff person, seeing my disappointment, made another suggestion: rather than rewire, consider putting a new "thumb switch" on the cord. Perfect solution! The lamp works (and looks) great -- and the cost was $25. Two repair visits – and good advice leading to two reasonable and successful outcomes. A Lamp & Fixture Shop is batting 1000 with me. If I could give an A+ grade, I sure would.

The guys fixed both in 10 minutes, matched the pull chain amazingly, loaded it all in my car for a reasonable $50. It was crazy great! I was so afraid I'd have to pay the cost of a new lamp to fix them. They aren't expensive lamps but the repairmen treated them as if they were Tiffany heirlooms. A terrific experience. Plus you can park in the back of the shop. It was worth driving 18 miles from my home!

I had an antique lamp (about 1920 with glass shade) and a more modern lamp needing repairs.  I was impressed with the knowledgeability of man I talked with.  Both lamps needed to be rewired. For the old lamp he had a few replacement parts which really improved the appearance. For the modern lamp he had a good selection of shades.  In all it was a good experience and I would recommend their work to others. Both lamps are home and functioning well.  i took the lamps to the shop on Friday and they were ready the following Wednesday. <br />

It was an old fashioned lamp that had a lot of sentimental value. I would use them again in the future.

Frustrating in slow response to an urgent request and several calls needed to be made to find out if it would be ready by the deadline.  In the end it worked out...lamp received, work done and picked up just in time, one day before needed.

It went very well. They were older lamps. They managed to preserve to uniqueness of the lamps.  It as very prompt service and I would recommend them.  They also helped me match the shades as far as color and size.

They were helpful and quick. I had an old fluorescent desk lamp that no longer worked. Parts are no longer available. They rewired it, and it looks great. Prompt service, came in on the lower end of the cost estimate. Nevertheless, they are not inexpensive--you pay for their top quality service with top prices. <br />

The service was A-1, excellent!  They got the chain unstuck and they inspected the lamp while they had it to see if they could take care of anything else.  Their service was quick and they got my lamp working again.  I would highly recommend them.
