Early in 2020 we decided to get our house ready to put on the market and needed people to do electrical work, fine carpentry, flooring. We looked on Angie’s List and found Ace Handyman of South Hills. They sent a craftsman the next day to look over the work we needed to have done. His professionalism and directness prompted us to ask to have someone assigned to come for several full days. We explained our wish to get the work done promptly, and the very helpful lady who handled scheduling did her best to support us. We had help from several craftsmen with special skills, all of them very attentive to our wishes and very efficient. We especially appreciated the way they explained things to us. They helped put our house in the shape we wanted, and it sold very promptly. In all, this was a happy association, and we would engage Handyman again if we still lived in Pittsburgh.

In February, we contacted Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh (formerly Handyman Matters South Pittsburgh) to install crown molding in our master bedroom. Normally, my husband likes to complete our home repair projects himself, but he had never installed crown molding before. We did some research and found Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh, and we're so happy we did! Rich was our handyman, he arrived on time and did a beautiful job installing the crown molding! We have cathedral ceilings in our bedroom, which made this a more difficult task. Rich was very knowledgeable on how to tackle this project, and it turned out even better than we were expecting! The whole process, from booking the job to completing the work, exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend using Ace Handyman Services South Pittsburgh!

We were VERY pleased with the work that was completed ! Chuck worked diligently at each project and was very knowledgeable. Chuck was very positive and reassuring as he worked through our punch list! The whole experience was wonderful. The Handyman arrived on time and was ready to work. I provided the materials and he brought all the tools, I was just charged for the labor to complete all the work. His work was outstanding, he was efficient and finished everything in a days time. We had a wonderful experience with Handyman Matters while redoing our kitchen. They removed the bulkheads, moved electric wires to the attic, added under cabinet lighting and recessed lights, overlaid the drywall on the ceiling, laid the floor tile, assisted the cabinet installers, added thresholds, plumbed the sink, installed trim and all the other details included in a remodel. The workers showed up on time daily, worked efficiently, never left a mess and kept us informed during the project. They did an amazing job in turning our old dated kitchen into a dream space.

My husband and I recently had about a 3.5 day project done to include the following: drywall placement to our entire kitchen ceiling to help with ceiling damage with painted, textured finish, inspection of plumbing, placement of new light fixture, painting of kitchen walls and crown molding placement, painting of baseboard along with patching of walls as needed, replacement of two areas of baseboard. The work was efficient, extremely tidy after each day of work, and Rich, the craftsman we worked with, was professional and exceptional in his craft. The company helped to schedule our work in a timely manner around our busy schedules and helped to answer any questions we had along the way. Our kitchen along with our other small odds and ends projects turned out better than I could have ever imagined and are absolutely beautiful. I am excited to make further upgrades to my home using Handyman Matters!

He only did the drywall fix and the two small cabinet doors. Didn't know how to do the simple backsplash grout nor could he fix the closet doors. Nor was any efforts or attempts made to do either of those projects. Maybe these folks can only do the simplest of tasks.

"The customer signed up for a 4 hour Angie's List deal. When we reviewed the work with him before starting, we found some of the doors to be in such disrepair that fixing them would not be guaranteed and we recommended replacing them instead. The customer attempted to install a glass tile back splash that he was unable to finish. The workmanship was such that the initial tile that he installed would have to be removed and we would need to patch walls and start over. The cost to do these jobs would far exceed the 4 hour deal. To only do a patch and repair would not have made anyone happy and there would be no guarantee. I understand that the cost of doing this right was in excess of what he wanted to spend at this time, however I feel that we did the right thing in explaining what we could and could not do given the time factor. We did work for 2 hours and we prorated his deal to reflect the actual time we were there(which we did not have to do). I feel we did the right thing and charged a more than fair amount for the work preformed."

I could not get an appointment for 2 months but then Handyman Matters called and were able to get me in after about 1 month. The person arrived on time and went with me to purchase the materials required for my three projects as I do not own a truck. He was very knowledgeable about the projects. He worked steadily until the projects were completed. He had to cut hinges into the doors and replace the frames. The cost of the materials was approximately $330 and I paid $587 to Handyman Matters for labor. I would use them again but the wait time was long and it is expensive. However, if you cannot so repairs yourself, they are a good option. I have used them before and will use again.

We always try to fit our customers into our schedule in a timely manner and we do keep a "Move Up List" in order to accommodate our customers sooner, whenever we have a change in our schedule. I was happy to see that we were able to move your project up by more than 4 weeks and complete everything to your satisfaction. Finding qualified Craftsmen is very challenging in todays market. We vett all of our potential Craftsmen with a very rigorous hiring process, and we will not compromise Quality, Safety, & Professionalism just so that we can keep a tight schedule during our busy times. Finally in regards to Pricing, I would ask you to check around for pricing to pick up customer supplied doors at supplier, then install the 2 doors (1 exterior & 1 interior) and a dryer vent (how many door installers would also install your dryer vent). We feel that the labor rate charged of $587 for this work was more than fair. We were also pleased to see that the customer noted that she would use our service again!!!"
