This is a bad review for not only this company, but for Angie's list also. Doubtful I'll use this site again nor will I renew if their customer service is this bad. I had sent email asking for status updates and NO REPLY, really, you expect to get a good review if you can't hold the deal to honor their deals and when they don't to give me my money back or at least allow me to use it towards another purchase. F for 3 kings service and a D for Angie's list customer service department and for management allowing them to get away with shoddy service at best.
There was very heavy rain and some damaging winds in late April and May this year, so the first thing that happened was we received a message that they were running behind because of the weather.

1) We are extremely behind because of rainy weather over last few weeks but we will catch up fast on a first come first serve basis meaning you will not be put on back burner. Our goal is to get an all A review after this amazingly discounted offer. 2) You do not have to be home because it is purely exterior. Also we put you on a schedule based on when you placed the order and town you are located in so we can efficiently complete project. If you send us away it will forfeit the coupon. 3) We aim to please but there are some jobs we just can not complete like any roof over 2 stories, non shingle roofs, and extremely steep pitched roofs. (Steep roofs we may have to schedule on a day we can take more time because it may take 2 hrs or more) if you can be patient we will get it done. Refunds are given if we can not complete a job. 4) We provide a thourough free inspection of your roof to make sure leaks dont happen and to inform you if its time to get replaced. We have found a lot of damaged roofs and gotten them replaced with nothing out of pocket. 5) We would love to provide an ongoing discounted relationship with you to provide periodic gutter cleaning services. Please be patient with us and we will get you taken care of. We are excited to work for you and take care of your home.
I next received another message one week later:
We sincerely apologize but the weather and the upcoming forecast for non stop rain has not allowed us to efficiently operate and complete our gutter cleaning schedule. On these type of coupons we get 500 to 1000 homes to do and schedule to get them done asap. If you do not want to wait because of weather conditions angieslist will provide you with a refund. Otherwise stay patient and we will try our best to clean your gutter system over the next few weeks. Thank you for understanding it is our goal to keep you informed and provide you with the utmost customer service sometimes the weather just doesn't cooperate.
To this I responded that I wasn't in a hurry and to call me when they were caught up and ready to schedule. This was on 5/11/2015. The next time I heard from them was 5/18 with the following message:
We just want to follow up and once let you know that we are trying to get to homes as fast as we can. We can not do gutter cleanings in the rain or when the gunk in the gutters is wet because it wont clean out without hours of manual labor. We have not collected any money from you Angieslist has and at this point if you dont want to wait for the rain and rain forecast to clear please contact them and get a refund. There is no need to give us negative reviews because we can not control the weather. If you want to stay patient we will get the project done but if you dont want to wait please just get your money back and not blast us like a couple people have decidied to do so far. Thank you sorry the weather has made these jobs not possible to complete in a timely efficient manner.
I then heard nothing and pursued nothing until 8/14/2015 when I messaged them that I was still interested and asked what their status was, to which they replied today, 10 days later:
We let Angieslist know months ago to refund everyone that had purchased this miscommunicated coupon that had not been completed. Because of the miscommunication and high disatisfaction we told them to give back the money to everyone that had clicked and purchased the coupon. They take the money from you and will give you a refund. Sorry that you are one of the ones that slipped through the cracks on getting contacted.
This was not a "miscommunicated coupon". It was all very clear for those of us who purchased it and, based on the messages, to the company also. This was a renege on the offer when something better came along. First impressions are everything, and this one wasn't very good. There has been no refund issued and it certainly doesn't sound like they have any intention of honoring the promotion.
"This is a false statement and slander towards our company. Read the paperwork you have and then notice the huge chunk of money missing from the total because of your ACV policy. We went above and beyond just to get the roof on the house done for you which you paid zero dollars out of pocket. You are not the home owner or the one that is in contract. We agreed to do the roof only and that was all ok with Vera. If you want the rest of the work done you would need to come up with the money missing from the claim. Please stop the slander we did nothing but try and help."
"I emailed you back and forth more than once. You purchased a roof tune up in March and asked us to give you a quote to install roof jacks sometime in June which we do not do on roofs that we are not fully replacing. We did the roof tune up days after we initially spoke and I left you all our contact information. You never reached out to us for anything else so we assumed we fulfilled what you paid for through Angieslist."
Please understand that I have lots of trees, so my gutters are usually a wet, nasty mess. I knew there would be a mess to clean up, so I didn?t want them coming if they couldn?t access the back yard in order to pick up the debris. I never heard back from them that day, but when I got home I found that they had come anyway. They had blown out the gutters, but this wet, nasty stuff is now all over my back yard. My patio, all of the windows, most of the plants and everything else out there was pretty much covered in the stuff.
I did send an email and let him know I wasn?t happy with the job. The response I received didn?t sound like he even knew what I was talking about. He said they were very busy, which I completely understand, offered a refund if I wanted, and then said that if I would be patient they would try to clean my gutters in a couple of weeks.
My wife and 2-year old son spent their afternoon trying to clean up as much as they could.
There are black water stains all over our house, our windows are covered in debris, and my wife is pretty steamed. Highly disappointed in 3 Kings - would not recommend them.
